“They will also answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and gave you food or thirsty and gave you something to drink?’ And when was it that we saw you a stranger and welcomed you, or naked and gave you clothing? And when was it that we saw you sick or in prison and visited you?’ And the Lord will answer them, ‘Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these who are members of my family, you did it to me.”
Matthew 25:37-40
Trinity UMC has a long and rich history of ministering to and with the poor and needy of the greater Kannapolis area.
In 2005, the church began a feeding program, God’s Supper Table (GST), which provided a sit-down meal for any who wished to come to the church on Wednesday evenings.
In May of 2020, due to Covid regulations, meals were distributed via drive-thru on Wednesday evenings. We began keeping track of those meals when the switch was made, and from May of 2020 to October of 2024, the church provided 20,000 meals. It is estimated that since the program began in 2005, GST has distributed approximately 45,000 meals.
God’s Supper Table continues to thrive today employing volunteers not only from the church, but from throughout the community.
In addition to God’s Supper Table, Trinity supports numerous mission projects including Cabarrus Meals on Wheels, Habitat For Humanity, Cooperative Christian Ministry, CVAN, and others.
